Southwest Sangha is located in the foothills of the Black Range near the Gila Wilderness at an elevation of 6,000 feet. The nearest town is Silver City, 45 minutes to the west. We are situated at the end of a 3½ -mile, county-maintained dirt road on four acres surrounded by a large cattle ranch.
There are several structures on the land. The main building houses the kitchen, office, living room, dining room, sunroom, bathroom and two bedrooms. The small historic chapel serves as the meditation hall and three tastefully converted camper trailers provide additional housing.
Southwest Sangha COVID-19 Protocol
Southwest Sangha will be made available to those who would like to continue their intensive practice. Your cooperation is requested/required to maintain a safe environment for all. The protocol below is based on the recommendations of Dr. Mark Haddad, a physician on our Board of Directors.
· A negative result from a test done 5 days before arriving at SWS.
· Quarantine between the testing day and arriving at SWS.
· Quarantine at SWS and have a second test after 5 days.
· Quarantine until receiving a negative result. During your entire stay at SWS, we ask that you help maintain a safe environment by wearing a mask in close proximity to other staff and especially guests, washing hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, and wiping down surfaces in the bathroom after each use. The second test, done 5 days after arrival at SWS, can be scheduled at the Public Health Office in Silver City. Visit: cvtestreg.nmhealth.org for more information.
