Southwest Sangha
A contemplative lay monastery

Directions

From Highway 152: Turn North on Galaz Street between mile marker 16 and the Mimbres River (Rio Mimbres).  Go one mile on Galaz Street and turn right on Noonday Canyon Road (a dirt road).  Follow the well-traveled road about 3.5 miles, past the sign on the right side of the road for "Kuhl." Ignore the "no trespassing" signs, they are out of date.   Proceed up the hill and when you come to a fork in the road, veer right.  Proceed about a half mile until you see the small Southwest Sangha sign and red numbers 363 on the right located just in front of the Southwest Sangha entrance driveway.

Please drive slowly, watch for livestock and lower lights when approaching houses along Noonday Canyon Road.

From Interstate I-25: Take Exit 63 and go west on Highway 152 over Emory Pass.  This is a very windy road, so please allow plenty of time to drive the 50 miles.  Turn North on Galaz Street after mile marker 16 and follow the directions above ("From Highway 152") to Southwest Sangha

From Deming: Take Highway 180 north for 24 miles and turn right at Highway 61.  Travel 25 miles to the end and turn right on Highway 152.  Travel 0.7 miles and follow the directions above ("From Highway 152" to Southwest Sangha.

From Silver City: Take Highway 180 East out of town, turn left on Highway 152, and follow the directions above ("From Highway 152") to Southwest Sangha.

From El Paso and Las Cruces. The fastest route is to stay on Highway 10 to Deming and follow directions above from Deming.
